As per Swami Shankarananda's (of Ramakrishna Vedanta Math) reminiscences, Swami Abhedananda wanted to meet Subhas Chandra Bose. Swami Abhedananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, was very ill at that time.
When Subhas Chandra Bose came, Abhedananda wanted to embrace him. Abhedananda was not being able to stand properly or wear his garment because of illness. Nevertheless he embraced Subhas with great love and blessed him, saying, "Be thou victorious." He had a lot of discussion with Subhas on the contemporary political situation. Then he asked Subhas as to when India would gain independence. Subhas replied that it was very difficult to remove a gigantic rock (he meant the British empire perhaps).
