After getting released from Presidency jail Subhas was busy in organizing the flood relief for the flood affected areas in North Bengal in September- October 1922. The operations were done with the help of support from general public and without any help from Government. The relief work was so successful that the Governor of Bengal Lord Ronaldshay, later Lord Zetland, characterized Subhas Chandra Bose as an organizing genius.
