While roaming in search of a Guru along with his friends, in Varanasi Subhas had a great fortune of meeting Swami Brahmananda, the spiritual giant, who was the first president of the Ramakrishna order. A direct disciple and spiritual son of Sri Ramakrishna himself, Swami Brahmananda or Rakhal Maharaj knew Subhas's family intimately. Subhas stayed with him for sometime.
